Sue Ann Rainey is actively involved with the arts in Bucks County. She studied graphic design and photography at Tyler School of Art. Today, she searches throughout Bucks County finding historic buildings, farms, and landscapes and documents them in photography and watercolor. She has been creating new 3-dimensional work in recent years and enjoys the freedom to create more. She has exhibited extensively throughout Bucks and Hunterdon Counties and beyond in solo, group, and juried exhibits. Among her numerous awards was a 1st Place in Photography at the 2017 Tinicum Arts Festival as well as 2nd place at the 2015 and 2018 Tinicum Arts Festivals; 2019 Artsbridge Members’ Show; and 2017 Doylestown Art League’s Exhibit.

Connection to Bucks County
Rainey grew up near Carversville, in Solebury Township, down the road from Raymond and Lillias Barger, Charles Hargens, and Ranolph Bye. She is influenced by the New Hope School and other Bucks County artists. Other influences include Alfred Stieglitz, Ansel Adams, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Constantin Brancusi, and Antonin and Noemi Raymond.

As a child, Rainey was taught by K. Steele Renninger, Catherine Jansen, Will Larson, Chuck Schmidt, Selma Bortner, Alan Goldstein, and Robert Dodge.
Rainey is the Vice President at Artsbridge and is an advisory board member at Middle Bucks Institute of Technology. She is also affiliated with the Doylestown Arts League, PA Center for Photography, New Hope Art League, New Hope Arts, Doylestown Photography Club, and the Upstairs Gallery.
