Isaac Wallwork

Art metal blacksmith Isaac T. Wallwork worked with the renowned Bucks County artist Morgan Colt at the Gothic Shop at Phillips' Mill in New Hope. He made several ornamental iron pieces for St. Phillip's Episcopal Chapel in New Hope. He also worked for the Frederick Glass Company of Bethayres, retiring as personnel director in 1967. Wallwork made his first ironwork for the George Ely Riding Academy, New Hope in 1923. His delicate iron grill work features floral motifs with birds, lions, and dragons, used in doors, tables, lanterns, lamps, and flower stands. When the craft market declined, Wallwork went into industry, using the skills he had developed as a metal worker.

Isaac Wallwork lived in New Hope from around 1928 until his death in 1986. He was married to Gertrude Walter Wallwork.
