Glenna Bye, a landscape painter, responds to nature in many ways. Not only does she paint the fields and valleys of our area, her paintings include streams, bridges and historic buildings. Bye looks for variety in shape, texture, value, and color. She arranges these components in a united and orderly way within the composition. Bye does not usually change the main visual appearance of the subject, but tries to enhance the important parts with light and shadow. Bye started watercolor painting when she moved to Bucks County; she was inspired by the county's beauty, nostalgia, and history.
Glenna Bye's father was a commercial artist, and her husband, Ranulph Bye, was a well known painter. Art has always been an important part of her life.
Glenna Bye currently resides and has a studio in Mechanicsville, Buckingham Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
