Corinne Lalin began her studies at the Gutman Center for the Arts, a branch of the University of Pennsylvania, New Hope, where she met her husband and colleague John Schmidtberger. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, they moved permanently to New Hope in 1987. They presently live in Upper Black Eddy and maintain a studio in the New Hope area. Together, with sculptor Mark Pettegrow, they started the company Brushworks. Lalin's works are commonly oil painting on panels or canvas, with glazes, focusing mainly on landscapes, interior dialogue paintings, transitions, daylight, and darkness. She has taught art at the College of Textile and Science, Philadelphia, Moravian College, and Michener Art Museum.
