Doylestown painter Cathy Ann Springer works in watercolor, showing a creative use of color and a somewhat geometric design structure. Landscapes are a favorite theme, of Bucks County and Maine, as well as of other countries she has traveled to. Springer finds still lifes an exciting genre, which she creates mostly in a small format. After meeting renowned serigrapher Anita Gronendahl while teaching, Springer became Gronendahl's framer in Gronendahl's Barn Studio Gallery from 1980 to Gronendahl's death in 1994. Springer exhibits locally, including the Annual Art Exhibition at Phillips' Mill in New Hope. She teaches art at Newtown Friends School in Newtown.
