Summary

"Art occurs in the process. In my direct approach to painting, this process relies upon chaos and chance to provide many options for discoveries which lead to a greater possibility of presenting a more immediate, personal statement."
-Allan Hill

Allan Hill is an abstract painter who works with watermedia such as watercolor, gouache, and acrylic with collage. Color and surface quality are given the same importance as content, which is kept mysterious and elusive rather than referring to specific objects and places. Nature is his inspiration and his "jumping-off" point. He believes that the finished painting should have more questions than answers, and should cause the viewer to reflect, opening up a variety of interpretations.

Hill has extensive experience as a graphic designer, and his work can be seen in various private and public collections on the East C
oast and in the Midwest.
